just stopping by to say...

ohkay. I pretty much haven't written in this blog lately because, well, I now prefer my lj over this one. I know. I'm sorry. It's just that it's more fun to post with lj -- the layouts, the format... plus the fact that you don't have to have a google account to have one. so... if you ended up with this blog, you should be heading over to this one. <--- it's clickable! my throat is starting to sore

ok. so i've just come home from my "training", and again, i've talked on and on and on... i swear, next week, i'll just let them do all the talking.

anyway... i recall posting earlier about having my trainees start their own blogs... i am kinda waiting for them to email me their urls, so i could check them out. i've actually instructed them to make an entry everyday, so that they could practice writing in english. it's a pretty good idea, if i must say so myself. haha.

i'm sure everybody knows moymoy palaboy already. and i made a discovery today, thanks to mel. they're going to be a regular feature on bubble gang! amazing. from youtube to bubble gang. that's a pretty big feat! and they're really funny! you'll never expect that moymoy (the guy with the shorter hair) is actually a pretty good singer!

if you haven't seen any of their youtube videos yet, check them out: www.youtube.com/users/moymoypalaboy or just type in moymoy palaboy in the search box. have i said they're really funny?

i'm cutting this short. i can't think of anything more to post here. maybe later. hehe

15 August 2008

it's going to be a quiet night

it's my second post of the day... mainly because tonight, we have no cable reception, hence, no tv. boooo. i already called skycable, mainly to the insistence of my mom (as if i'm the only one who can dial a phone in the whole household), and they said that they still don't know what the heck is wrong with the cable reception and they have no frickin' idea why there is such a thing as a signal interruption in our area. and the guy said that if it's a minor problem, it would probably take around 4 - 6 hours of no tv, but if it's a major problem then it's probably around 8 hours of no tv.

i guess my mom won't be seeing buboy and vice ganda on the singing bee tonight. either that's a good thing or a bad thing. good for me, bad for them maybe, or the other way around... all i know is as long as there's no power interruption, i'm good. Ü

so tomorrow is another saturday... and another training day for me. it actually slipped my mind that i have a training slated for tomorrow and i didn't have the hand outs and exercises prepared or anything. but then again, this is the third batch already so i would love to assume that the ever so wonderful assistant of mine thought of preparing the handouts and the exercises without me telling her what the heck those are.

of course, one can only dream...

although i've said (or typed) earlier that the training slipped my mind, another idea popped into my head for the said training... i figured i could have them practice writing in english more (it is an english proficiency training) by writing in a blog! and i'm going to force them to sign up with blogger so i could comment on their posts... *insert evil laugh*

speaking of blogs... i know i have an account with livejournal and tabulas, but i seem to have forgotten my passwords! oh well... i guess i have to just click that magical button that says forgot your password? and hopefully that the email account i used is still active... heehee

so i tried to log in to livejournal and what do you know? i did forget my password... but i still do have my account there... hah Ü

there's another project that i'm probably going to do for the oh-so-beloved (yeah, i was sarcastic) company... and it's re-designing their webpage. and i must say, that it really, really NEEDS redesigning. have you seen it? here's a link: http://www.trigonmgt.com/

see what i'm talking about? but i need ideas. anyone?

totally unacceptable

... I just finished reading the comics page on Yahoo!news and went back to the news homepage, right? Lo and behold, there's this link to an article on the latest Harry Potter film entitled "Poof! Next `Harry Potter' flick moves to summer". I clicked on it instantly thinking that maybe Harry Potter and the Half - Blood Prince will be moved to release earlier than November 21st of this year. But noooooooo!!! Warner Bros. execs say that they're moving it for release summer NEXT YEAR!

are they out of their frickin' minds??? I am totally expecting a lot of hate mail and violent reactions from the millions of fans around the world.

it would've been perfectly acceptable if they gave out a valid reason such as the film won't make the Nov. 21 deadline. Really, it would've been. However, the reason they gave is really, really cr**py. The reason? They expect that they want to take advantage of the summer months... in short, they just want a bigger income, expecting that Harry Potter and the Half - Blood Prince will draw in more $$$ in its opening weekend in the summer as opposed to opening in Nov. 21. what the heck?!

read the story for yourself here: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080814/ap_on_en_mo/film_harry_potter;_ylt=Aok41RKI3noyXNIKftN0NF6s0NUE

the incident in the bathroom

we (that's kristy, ian and me) overnighted in my newly blessed unit, right? everything was going on peachy until i decided to take a bath...

i was taking my dandy time showering, right? and after my entire shower, nothing happens -- everything's cool... then when i decided that i want to get out of the *darn* shower enclosure that glass sliding door decided to be a big KSP. this is what happened:

i slid the door open, ever so carefully, then just as the handle touches the stationary glass part of the enclosure, the glass in the sliding door decided to SHATTER IN A GAJILLION PIECES. so i stood there for about a nanosecond, dumbfounded.

the first shower i take in my newly blessed condo and the glass door shatters.

this is not good.

another year...

i had my condo unit blessing last saturday and i celebrated my birthday with that also... para tipid. hehehe...

i actually found it funny because my mom was the one who's so uptight with the "event" and she was the one who was fussing with showing everybody every inch of the unit. it's a small one bedroom unit there's no need to show everybody even the bathroom. gosh. ma, chill.
we had to have the unit blessed with just 6 guests (as opposed to the 16 people who I was expecting to come) - excluding me and my mom - because the priest was very, very anxious to return to his parish to celebrate the anticipated mass. baka daw magalit yung mga general na parokyano niya. anyway, majority arrived about a minute after the priest left. ganda ng timing, ano? but we had to wait about an hour 'cause the reservation was for 7pm...

dinner was at abe's (where good friends dine) where the food was absotively posolutely filling!! we had our fill of sinuteng baby squid, squid tactics, sinigang na tiyan ng bangus sa bayabas (what a mouthful!), lechon cubano, pinakbet, binukadkad na pla pla... dessert was my favorite part... although the main courses left little room for dessert.. heehee

[can i just say na ang weird ng layouting ng blogger?]

we had to go for a little walk after dinner at bonifacio high street to let the food go down for the rest of the night... Ü and we had to wait a while for my mom to blow out the candles for my shockingly *pink* birthday cake. yep, it's pink. of all the colors...

after my mom, aunt and uncle left, it was time for the *real* party to begin... haha! i think that i'd be opening a club/bar & restaurant anytime in the near future... we made the following cocktails:

margarita denmark orgasm (it's just a name, believe me)

tequila sunrise

sapphire martini daiquiri (yung hawak ko)

black russian

poor man's martini

vodka-sprite with grenadine syrup

vodka-sprite with blue curacao

we also played scene it? -- it actually is an addicting game!! i wanna play it over and over again...

13 April 2008

it's been a while...

13 april 2008

wow. it's been a little over three months since i last posted here... i guess i was a bit preoccupied about updating my myspace blog... but anyway...

usually when i update my blogger, um, blog, i'd just ramble on and on about different musings i'd have on my idle times, ramble about different excitements i've just experienced, and most of the time, i'd just rant about what sucks in my life.

this one would be one of those: ranting about what sucks in my life.

*sigh* ideally, it's not supposed to be this way, you know? what messed up person would rather confide in an electronic medium, to be read by anyone who may happen to stumble upon this site, than confide in other living, breathing, human beings? yeah huh. i think i just dissed everybody who owns a blog. i guess it's not my fault that nobody wants to listen to us, to me.

anyway, like i said, this is a ranting entry, and here's what i want to rant about: my mom. simple as that. i don't know if she's just old or what but it's downright impossible to reason with her now. utterly impossible. i don't know how people at work do it, but it's going to be a freaking warzone if you ever try to reason with her. i swear, if she just wasn't my mother...

take what happened these past two weeks for example. she'd get really, really mad at me (to the point of actually shouting at me in a mall, for crying out loud) just because i haven't bought an outfit to this stupid dance number thing that they're going to do for the company anniversary. yep. she's blown up on me just because of a stupid outfit for a stupid dance for a stupid company. in the first place I WASN'T EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE IN IT! and then she goes and busts her knee and expects me to take her place to that stupid sonofa***** dance number for that stupid sonofa***** company. i didn't want anything to do with that, with any of that. but, trying to be the good daughter that i supposedly am to do a request by my oh so great mother, and that she absolutely gave me no choice anyway, i gave in. okay. i was going to do the stupid dance. then she drags me to go shopping for an outfit that i still have no idea what it's supposed to be or what color it should be in, since i haven't actually seen all the outfits that the other participants are going to wear. and since i'd just be using it for only ONE time, she drags me to all these designer boutiques, which, i must add, are pretty darn expensive. all for an outfit that i'd pretty much wear for only a few hours (even minutes) and then forget that it ever exists in my closet.

and then she goes and says she doesn't understand me. i mean, COME ON!!!

it's me (and a whole bunch other people) that always gets stuck between a rock and a hard place everytime she'd just decide that she'd have one of her furious spells. nobody ever knows where they'd place themselves with her. sala sa lamig, sala sa init, as the saying in tagalog goes. it's like you're ALWAYS wrong... it's always your fault.

like i said, this sucks, big time.

way bigger problem: she won't believe a thing i'd say. she'd rather believe other people than believe me. really. would you believe that? i'm literally shaking my head as i type this, since images of instances before come flooding back at this instance.

she'll always believe that it's my fault. i'm telling (well, writing) you, if there would be a third world war, i'm sure she'll blame me for causing it.

is the whole world against me now? my internet explorer decided not to respond properly on me a while ago while i was typing... darn.

now if only my mom could read this, but it would take a miracle (and even two more world wars) for her to actually learn to use a computer and the internet. her excuse: she's too old... yeah, right. nobody's to old to learn new stuff (i don't believe that shit that you can't teach an old dog new tricks... bah)...

i need a job, badly. i need to get far away from here, start a new life, where i could be me. heaven help me...

02 January 2008

alrighty. first post for the new year ( and it's a long one!)

02 january 2008

first of all, happy new year!!

okidoki. on with the post. harhar. hmmm... so what should i write about? the past year? new year's resolutions? i have absolutely no idea, so i'll shotgun this...........

2007. wow. what a year. let me reminisce for a bit here... first i graduated (woooo-hooooo!), finally, and then got a job. first with our own company and then with hsbc. then i resigned from hsbc and have spent the rest of the year bumming out. come to think of it, i spent half the year working and half the year spending everything i earned. haha. oh yeah. as the year ended, i was elected into the board of directors for our company. wow. what a way to end the year. haha. anyhooo... i guess 2007 was some kind of a roller coaster ride for me. (alright, i guess this is the part where i contemplate on the past year.. haha) full of highs and lows... anyway... i guess 2007 was the year of frustrations for me, as well as a year of - for a lack of a better term - "returning" to previous norms and such.

2007 was frustrating for me in a way that there were a lot of things that i didn't get to do, and hopefully i'd be able to do them this year... hehe... anyway, like, i really didn't get the job i really wanted - i got stuck as an HR assistant and then as a customer service outbound agent (which really, really sucked, by the way). i guess one of the few things that i pride myself in doing is resigning from that sucky job. haha. i know, it'll be bad on my resume and stuff, but hey, i can't go pretending that i'm doing great when in reality i'm not. just being real, here... anyway... i guess the year also kinda sucked because of things that happened (if you'll read my posts throughout 2007, i'd gather you'll have a general idea of what sucked and what didn't... =D), and that some things (or people for that matter) just can't freaking leave you alone! i mean, what did i ever do to deserve this?! yeah, a bit melodramatic, but hey, you can't blame me for doing that. if it were you in my shoes, dang, i know you'll probably feel the same thing. anyway, looking back, i think that 2007 for me was a time where i was probably still looking for my own "niche", my own "genre", so to speak. i know i suck at customer service as an outbound agent, i know i don't like doing human resources. career-wise, i think we can conclude that i won't be looking for jobs along that line. hehe.

what else? oh yeah.

like what i wrote a couple of paragraphs above, 2007 was also a year of "returning" - so to speak. i don't really have specifics or anything, but i guess this includes my "love" for power rangers... i guess i have to thank hsbc for letting me re-live my power rangers days.. haha.. but seriously, though. i kind of actually re-discovered power rangers when cartoon network aired power rangers wild force again and i stumbled across it one afternoon while i was channel surfing a couple of years ago. but i really got into it again when power rangers spd was aired and i was surfing the web for info on episodes and such that i tumbled into rangercentral.net and found out that there was a '15th season anniversary' episode that was going to be aired. so further 'researching' led me to find out that adam would be one of the 'veteran' rangers that would return, and it got me hyped up. why? adam was (and still is) my all-time favorite power ranger ever. so, thanks to youtube, i actually got to watch the episode before anybody else here in the philippines does (or i would like to think so), and thanks to limewire, i could watch it over and over again. hehe. but after that particular episode, i have been searching for episodes from mighty morphin, particularly the third season, which is when adam (rocky and aisha) come in. i've watched the movie over and over again, and i could probably quote you the exact lines from the movie. so after re-discovering power rangers, i've kinda returned to my childhood programs recently: all those japanese sentais (bioman, maskman, jetman, etc.), sailormoon, v.r. troopers, and the like. so... i'm not returning to being childish, i'd like to get that cleared, i just reconnected with my childhood... it was a year of being so uptight and so grown-up that reconnecting with my childhood was actually a nice outlet for stress and all that.

*i'll also be posting this same entry on my blog at myspace, so if any of the former rangers who are my friends on myspace, please don't delete me from your friends, it's just that power rangers has been (and will always be) a big part of my life that i couldn't just ignore or move on from. heehee. so... bear with me, please.*

alright. so now that i've pretty much summarized what happened to me in 2007 (which mainly is power rangers), i guess now's the time where i get to outline what i plan to do in 2008. hopefully this will be easier compared to actually thinking of stuff that happened to you the past year... anyway, here goes:

so. what can i do this 2008? hmmm.. let me see:

- i'll be going to europe, finally. that's already being worked on. hopefully i'd be able to go this march... i'd finally get to actually remember going to europe. hehe. see, this trip would be my second trip to europe, since i got to go when i was about 22 months old. you see? i couldn't remember a damn thing about that trip, so now that i'm finally going to go, all 22 years of me, i would get to remember going (and actually have proof that i've been to europe!) haha. so there. i am so ecstatic about this right now!! and, i promise to post about that trip as soon as i could get to a wi-fi spot. =) heh.

- i'll be going to hawaii! =) yeah baby! this will be the first time that i'll be going to hawaii, so i expect that it's going to be great. i mean, i've been to LA and LV loads of times so i think that it'll be cool to go to another state, for a change. hehe

- i swear that i'm going to find that job that i really want this year. whatever it takes, dude. whatever it takes.

- what else? hmmm... maybe if there's going to be another power ranger convention like the power morphicon 2007 this year, with adam (and possibly rocky) attending, i'd be raring to go! maybe during march? in hawaii? come on... i'd really love to meet them, and then i could die happy. lol.

- maybe i'll go try and meet people that i want to meet. like my all time favorite actors, or something like that. maybe try an extreme sport... hmm...

- oh yeah, i just remembered. if i find that job, i'm going to be moving out of my parent's house! wooooo hoooo!!!!! that's my next adventure!

at this point i can't totally think of anything else i'd like to do for the year, since it's already 11pm by this writing. funny thing, i actually started writing this post at 9pm, but i logged on to youtube and searched for the power morphicon clips so i watched while i was writing this, haha, so now i'm a little sleepy and i still have to wake up early tomorrow for all the errands i have to do. so, yeah, my brain is kinda sleeping on me now, so i'd cut this one short(er). so.... until the next post?

** disclaimer: i am not a power ranger stalker (or obssesive shadower, in the politically correct term my cousin came up with). i am a huge fan, i could give you that, but not a stalker. or some desperate fan who desperately wants to meet them. i just want to meet them, but if that doesn't happen, then life goes on. they're my friends on myspace, but that's about it. and quite frankly, it's going to be pretty hard to stalk them, with the whole pacific ocean separating me from them. i live in the philippines and they live where? the united states? so come on.. practicality, people. i'm not filthy rich to go jetsetting wherever.** i just wanted that out. paranoid? maybe.
